A recent change was made to PokémonGo Travel, where by if you are moving at speed you will no longer be able to see sightings and Pokémon Spawning.
A couple of days ago, players started reporting that if you are moving at more than 25mph you will not see any sightings or Pokémon spawns near you. While we know that you shouldn’t be playing games on your phones while you are driving, this has still caused several issues:
- If you are riding as a passenger in someones car then you will no longer be able to see Pokémon.
- If you are a passenger in a Taxi then you will no longer be able to see Pokémon.
- If you are using public transport, for example a bus or a train, you will no longer be able to see Pokémon.
- If you are out on your bike and moving at fast speeds, you won’t be able to see Pokémon.
The other big issue is GPS glitches. From time to time the GPS glitches and makes the game think that you are moving at a driving speed, even if you are sat at home tidying up your Pokédex.
Winter Is Coming!
Winter is also just around the corner and with the shorter, colder days player’s won’t be wanting to walk around outside as much as they did during the summer.
At the end of the day, this could just be a bug with the game that has not yet been acknowledged, however Niantic may be shooting themselves in the foot if they keep on making changes like this without letting players know.
